Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of northern Utah lies Bear Lake, a beautiful lake brimming with family-friendly activities. Whether you're seeking sandy beaches, kid-friendly hikes, or simply quality time together, Bear Lake offers something for everyone. If you're planning a trip with kids, here's why Bear Lake in Garden City, Utah, should be at the top of your list.

Splash-tastic Beach Fun

With its Caribbean-like waters, Bear Lake boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Spend endless hours building sandcastles or simply lounging in the sun while the kids splash in the shallow waters. What makes Bear Lake's beaches so amazing is that the water is shallow for hundreds of feet at many locations - perfect for young kids to play, kayak, or paddle board. Don't forget to bring along buckets and shovels for some classic beachside fun (included with your stay with us)!

Scenic Hike

Seeking a kid-friendly hiking experience? Explore the Limber Pine Loop at just 1.5-miles and scenic views of Bear Lake. The trail features a 560-year-old tree, the trail's namesake. Along the route, discover 12 interpretive signs that teach children about the diverse plant and animal life in Bear Lake Valley.

Go ATVing

Want to get into the mountains without hiking? Go ATVing! With a plethora of trails to explore, whether you're seeking a full-day excursion or just a few hours of adventure, renting ATVs in Bear Lake provides convenient access to outdoor fun. Find a list of trails and rentals here>>

Race Go-Karts

For a thrilling experience that your kids will love, make sure to check out go-karting at Renegade Raceway in Garden City. Even the littlest can take part in the action with double carts that allow passenger riders ages 2 and up.

Ropes Course, Tubing, & Ziplining

Bridgerland Adventure offers a wide range of activities that cater to various interests and ages. From tubing (kids 5 & under are free on laps) to a ropes course and giant swing, there's something for every age to enjoy.

Rent a Surrey

You will find bikes, ebikes, and scooters for rent, however, we love surreys for the family because the whole family (up to 6 people) can all be together on one bike. It's also great for younger children who may not be comfortable riding bicycles. Find locations to rent here.

Tour a Cave

Minnetonka Cave offers a refreshing escape from the summer heat, with temperatures inside the cave remaining a cool 40 degrees year-round. It is Idaho's largest limestone rock cave with nine expansive chambers. Be sure to bring jackets or sweatshirts!

Watercraft Rentals

We enjoy renting jet skis, typically accommodating one or two kids alongside an adult. Renting a boat is another fantastic option, whether for a leisurely scenic ride around the lake or adding a tube for towing the kids. Additionally, paddleboards and kayaks are available for rent, perfect for family fun in the shallow waters near the beach. As an added bonus, we provide our guests with two youth kayaks! Pickleville Playhouse

If you're in search of family-friendly entertainment, this is the perfect spot. The playhouse puts on two musicals each day from June to September. You can add a dinner to your show or purchase popcorn, drinks & snacks.

Visit a Park

Garden City has two local parks, perfect to bring a picnic and let the kids run free. Choose from Heritage Park which includes a fishing pond, pickleball courts, playground and future splash pad. Or check out Garden City Park with a playground, large grassy field and a boardwalk that leads to the beach. As a bonus, you will also find a playground at Ideal Beach, which we provide access to for our guest.
