The cooler temperatures are the perfect time to make a day trip to a Hot Spring. Bear Lake has 4 Hot Springs within 90 minutes or less from our place!

1. Bear Lake Hot Springs

Where: St Charles, Idaho

Distance: 31 Min

Prices: $20 per vehicle (must call to reserve during the winter)

 

Many people are surprised to learn that there is a hot spring right off of the north/east corner of Bear Lake. Not very many people know of this hidden gem with views of the lake. Epic Rentals runs the hot springs and also has a water sports rental store on-site on the beach. There are two hot mineral pools and the temperature in each one is kept at 103℉. Admission gets you access to a stretch of beach as well as the hot springs. 2. Bear River Hot Springs

Where: Preston, Idaho

Distance: 1 Hr 12 Min

Prices: Ages 0 - 2/Free; Ages 3-60/$10; Age 61+ & Military/$9; Spectator/$2

Includes a mineral Hot Tub with temperatures kept at 105℉. The Peanut Pool is kept at 85-95℉ and 3 1/2 feet deep. There are two Hydro-Tube Water Slides that descend over 60 feet and a Junior Olympic Pool that are only open during the summer.

3. Crystal Hot Springs

Where: Honeyville, Utah

Distance: 1 Hr 23 Min

This hot spring claims the highest mineral content in the world! The minerals found in the water include: calcium, chloride, fluoride, iron, lithium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, silver, sodium, stronium, and sulfate. Less than 50 feet from the hot spring is a cold spring. These two springs surfacing this close to each other are the second closest hot and cold spring in the world. The hot spring ranges in temperature from 120-134℉ and the cold spring temperatures range from 65-75℉. You will also find two 365 feet hydro-tube water slides that are open year-round.

4. Lava Hot Springs

Where: Lava Hot Springs, Idaho

Distance: 1 Hr 34 Min

Prices: Weekdays: 2 & under/$3; 3-11/$7.50; 12-59/$8; 60+/$7.50

Weekends: 2 & under/$3; 3-11/$10; 12-59/$12; 60+/$10

The spring's temperatures range from approximately 102˚ F to 112˚ F degrees. You will find five outdoor gravel or rock bottom pools. Water slides, diving platforms and Olympic swimming complex are only open during the summer for an additional cost. There is also an indoor aquatic center with separate fees.
